Lopez gives the Bridgeport Bluefish late push to beat the York Revolution, 8-4

Luis Lopez drove in the winning run to give the Bridgeport Bluefish (35-41) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Bridgeport Bluefish hung on to beat the York Revolution (37-39) 8-4 on Wednesday.

After Prentice Redman tripled, Lopez came to the plate with the score tied at two, and singled, bringing home Redman.

Lopez racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Bridgeport Bluefish. He singled in the first and sixth innings.

Redman had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. He tripled in the sixth inning and doubled in the first and seventh innings.

Jeff Fiorentino was solid at the plate for the York Revolution. Fiorentino went 2-5, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

Paul Oseguera got the win, running his season record to 6-2. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered five hits.

Chris Cody ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his eleventh loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked two and struck out five.

Redman, Shea Hillenbrand, James Simmons and Lopez helped lead the Bridgeport Bluefish. They combined for eight hits and eight RBIs.
