Navarrete helps the Long Island Ducks down the Lancaster Barnstormers 10-5

Ray Navarrete had two extra base hits, sparking the Long Island Ducks (17-8) to a 10-5 victory over the Lancaster Barnstormers (14-12) on Wednesday at Bethpage Ballpark.

He doubled in the third and fourth innings.

Jason Monti got the win for the Long Island Ducks thanks to three strikeouts. Monti allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks over five innings.

Terry Tiffee racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lancaster Barnstormers. He singled in the seventh inning and homered in the ninth inning.

J.D. Durbin (1-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked one and struck out one.

The Long Island Ducks never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring one run on an RBI single by Dan Lyons.

The Long Island Ducks built upon their lead with five runs in the third. Navarrete kicked things off with a double, scoring Bryant Nelson and Brandon Sing. That was followed up by Shawn Williams' three-run home run, bringing home Navarrete and James McOwen.

After a quick strike from the Lancaster Barnstormers, the Long Island Ducks responded with four runs in the fourth. The Long Island Ducks scored on an RBI single by Nelson, a two-run double by Navarrete, and an RBI double by McOwen.
