The Torrington Titans (19-15) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 4-2 ballgame against the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide (15-18) on Thursday at The Ball Park.
While the Torrington Titans led until the fourth inning, the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Dan Fratus.
The Torrington Titans had no answer for Nick Whittaker, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Torrington Titans managed just two hits off of Whittaker, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his three innings of work.
Jack Murray improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide. Murray struck out three, walked one and gave up one hit.
Rhett Jones was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
