Tuesday was a great day for Dylan Tye, as Tye struck out nine batters to carry the Yorkton Cardinals (9-22) to a 3-1 victory over the Weyburn Beavers at Jubilee Park.
Andrew Tindell helped the Yorkton Cardinals pull ahead for the duration in the seventh inning. Reid Flasch to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Liam Goodall. Finally, Tindell came to the plate with the score tied at one in the seventh inning, and singled, scoring Flasch.
Flasch got on base three times in the game for the Yorkton Cardinals. He singled in the fifth inning.
Despite the loss, the Weyburn Beavers (11-18)'s Kurtis McCallum dominated the Yorkton Cardinals' batters, giving up one run and striking out five.
Kris Keating (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
