An ace performance by Andy Clark carried the Florence Freedom (42-36) to a 1-0 win over the Lake Erie Crushers (43-35) on Sunday at All Pro Freight Stadium.
Clark kept the Lake Erie Crushers off the board during his seven innings of work. Clark struck out three and allowed no walks and two hits.
Pierre LePage pushed the Florence Freedom ahead, in the seventh inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Kyle Bluestein doubled to start the seventh. He then went from second to third. Finally, LePage came to the plate with the game scoreless in the seventh inning and grounded out, bringing home Bluestein.
Paul Fagan couldn't get it done on the hill for the Lake Erie Crushers, taking a loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed one run.
