The Saugerties Stallions (14-32) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 6-3 to the Albany Dutchmen (25-20) on Thursday.
While the Saugerties Stallions led until the sixth inning, the Albany Dutchmen worked their way back and took the lead on an RBI double by JJ Shimko.
Shimko got on base four times in the game for the Albany Dutchmen. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.
Jared Gold brought the heat against the Saugerties Stallions during his outing. The Saugerties Stallions managed just three hits off of Gold, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out one during his five innings of work.
