An ace performance by Stephen Swagerty hoisted the Great Bend Boom (18-31) to a 6-1 win over the Garden City Wind (28-23) on Friday at Al Burns Field.

Swagerty got the win for the Great Bend Boom thanks to 11 strikeouts. Swagerty allowed one earned run on three hits and six walks over nine innings.

Clayton Truex racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Great Bend Boom. He doubled in the first inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Austin Boyle was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in eight innings, walked none and struck out seven.
