The Evansville Otters (34-25) jumped out to an early lead on the Schaumburg Boomers (27-34) and captured a 14-3 victory on Sunday at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

With eight runs in the first three innings, the Evansville Otters left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Josh Allen and an RBI single by Chris Breen during the first inning and a two-run double by Rolando Gomez, an RBI single by Breen, a two-run double by Nik Balog, and an RBI single by Chris Sweeney in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Evansville Otters.

Gomez racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Evansville Otters.

Felix Baez pitched lights out for the Evansville Otters. The Schaumburg Boomers managed just two hits off of Baez, who allowed no earned runs, walked six and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Nick Valenza recorded his first win of the year for the Evansville Otters. He allowed three runs over three innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered four hits.

Kurt Lipscomb couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Schaumburg Boomers, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
