Patrick Dorrian went 2-3, sparking the Cotuit Kettleers (10-17) to a 5-2 victory over the Brewster Whitecaps (11-16) on Wednesday at Stony Brook.
He singled in the first and fifth innings.The Brewster Whitecaps couldn't get anything going so long as Josh Roberson was on the hill. Roberson held the Brewster Whitecaps hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out six.
Walter Borkovich brought the heat against the Cotuit Kettleers during his outing. The Cotuit Kettleers managed just one hit off of Borkovich, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 3 2/3 innings of work.
Ross Achter got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. Achter struck out one, walked one and gave up two hits.
Tyler Zuber (2-1) took the loss for the Brewster Whitecaps. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
