The West Virginia Miners (25-17) and the Chillicothe Paints (20-23) each put runners in scoring position on Sunday, but the West Virginia Miners capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 7-3 win at VA Memorial Stadium.

Anthony Ayala racked up two RBIs on two hits for the West Virginia Miners. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the ninth innings.

Jacob Belinda handled the Chillicothe Paints' lineup with ease, racking up seven strikeouts. Belinda allowed two earned runs on six hits and one walk over six innings.

Eli Boggess was hot from the plate for the Chillicothe Paints. Boggess went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Calvin Coker improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the West Virginia Miners. Coker struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Jack Szott (1-3) took the loss for the Chillicothe Paints. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
