Jones' single propels the Chillicothe Paints past the Butler BlueSox, 6-2

Four first-inning runs helped the Chillicothe Paints (5-9) to a 6-2 win over the Butler BlueSox (10-6) at Kelly Automotive Park on Saturday.

The Chillicothe Paints scored in the first on an RBI single by Dylan Jones, an RBI single by Eli Boggess, an RBI single by Nate Grys, and an RBI single by Jake Horew.

Jack Thompson got on base four times in the game for the Chillicothe Paints. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the second innings.

Jack Szott pitched lights out for the Chillicothe Paints. The Butler BlueSox managed just one hit off of Szott, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out none during his four innings of work.

Garret Vrbanic racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Butler BlueSox. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Perley Provost improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Chillicothe Paints. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Shawn Holman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
