The Butler BlueSox get late runs to finish off the Lafayette Aviators, 13-5

The Butler BlueSox (9-5) scored five runs in the ninth to cap a 13-5 win over the Lafayette Aviators (5-7) on Thursday.

The Butler BlueSox scored in the ninth on a hit by pitch, an error, , a two-run single by Tyler Niemann, and an RBI single by Nick Stotler.

Garret Vrbanic led the Butler BlueSox's offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the fifth, seventh, and ninth innings.

Evan Kennedy was hot from the plate for the Lafayette Aviators. Kennedy went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the second, seventh, and eighth innings.

Pavin Parks got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings. Parks struck out nine, walked none and gave up 10 hits.

Skyler Harrison was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
