Clingaman allows no runs to lead the Santa Fe Fuego past the Las Cruces Vaqueros 12-11

Briston Clingaman kept the Las Cruces Vaqueros (5-17) off the board during his five innings of work and the Santa Fe Fuego (12-7) beat the Las Cruces Vaqueros, 12-11.

Clingaman struck out four and allowed one walk and three hits.

 

A walk-off hit into a fielder's choice by Tyler Herr gave the Santa Fe Fuego the win.

Clingaman had a hot bat for the Santa Fe Fuego. Clingaman went 1-2. He doubled in the second inning.

 

Offense was not hard to come by on on Thursday, as both teams combined for 23 runs and 27 hits, including zero extra base hits. Both bullpens were busy with 10 pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

 

Eddie Newton racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He singled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and homered in the eighth inning.

 

Tyler Herr improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Santa Fe Fuego. He allowed one run over one inning. Herr struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.

James Taylor (0-3) took the loss for the Las Cruces Vaqueros. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
