The Albany Dutchmen offense too much for the Saugerties Stallions in 9-2 rout

Story by Narrative Science.

The Albany Dutchmen (5-3) jumped out to an early lead on the Saugerties Stallions (5-5) and captured a 9-2 victory on Saturday at Cantine Memorial Veterans Field.

With seven runs in the first three innings, the Albany Dutchmen left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A wild pitch, an RBI double by Zach Remillard, and a groundout by Slayton Vaughan in the first inning and an RBI single by Grayson Lewis and an RBI single by Sean Aspinall during the second inning helped the Albany Dutchmen put some runs on the board early.

Adam Gauthier racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Albany Dutchmen. He singled in the second, third, and sixth innings.

Andrew Giddens handled the Saugerties Stallions' lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Giddens allowed one earned run, three hits and no walks over four innings.

Mike Reitcheck got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over five innings. Reitcheck struck out four, walked two and gave up six hits.

Austin Von Herbulus ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
