The Schaumburg Boomers (13-16) jumped out to an early lead on the Frontier Greys (12-15) and captured an 8-1 victory on Wednesday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

With six runs in the first three innings, the Schaumburg Boomers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A two-run single by Joel Hutter and a two-run single by Garrett Gordon during the first inning and a two-run home run by Jordan Dean in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Schaumburg Boomers.
