A superb effort by Sean Adler carried the Wareham Gatemen (14-26) to a 5-0 win over the Cotuit Kettleers on Friday at Spillane Field.
Adler held the Cotuit Kettleers (18-23) scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on six hits while ringing up eight.
Kyri Washington racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Wareham Gatemen. He singled in the second inning.
Nick Eicholtz ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
