The Joliet Slammers (6-9) took down the Lake Erie Crushers (9-6) 11-4 on Sunday at All Pro Freight Stadium after slamming the Lake Erie Crushers with six runs in the eighth inning.

The Joliet Slammers scored in the eighth on , a single by Russell Moldenhauer, an RBI single by Grant DeBruin, an RBI single by Adam Giacalone, an RBI single by Giacalone, a passed ball, and a groundout by Danny Hernandez.

Marquis Riley had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits.

Juan Sanchez got on base three times in the game for the Lake Erie Crushers. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Jordan Wellander improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Connor Whalen couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Lake Erie Crushers, taking a loss. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.

The Joliet Slammers' Giacalone, Moldenhauer, Riley and Darian Sandford combined for seven hits and six RBIs.
