A walk-off error from Scott Hoyt brought home the winning run for the Okotoks Dawgs (3-9) in a 7-6 victory over the Swift Current Indians (5-5) at Seaman Stadium on Sunday.
It was a good day at the plate for the Okotoks Dawgs' Connor Crane. Crane went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the eighth and ninth innings.
The Swift Current Indians had no answer for Andrew Moralez, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Moralez held the Swift Current Indians hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Paul Hvozdovic pitched lights out for the Swift Current Indians. Hvozdovic held the Okotoks Dawgs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Charlie Dant got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Dant struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Zach Manley (1-1) took the loss for the Swift Current Indians. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
