Perez's single propels the Springfield Sliders past the Hannibal Cavemen, 4-2

The Springfield Sliders (4-14) jumped on the Hannibal Cavemen (7-10) early on their way to a 4-2 win on Monday at Robin Roberts Field, scoring three runs in the first inning.

Ryan Guedry did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Springfield Sliders, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fourth inning.

The Hannibal Cavemen couldn't get anything going as long as Jordan Pesko was pitching. The Hannibal Cavemen managed just one hit off of Pesko, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Kyle Kuck reached base three times. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Brendan Kleekamp got the win, running his season record to 1-2. He allowed two runs over five innings. Kleekamp struck out two, walked five and gave up four hits.

Josh Tols (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
