Austin Bryant had three RBIs, helping the Pineville Pioneers (8-10) to a 7-2 victory over the Statesville Owls (9-9) on Saturday at Statesville Aggies Home Field.

Corey Roberts baffled the Statesville Owls, striking out six batters. Roberts allowed two earned runs, four hits and two walks over six innings.

Despite the loss, the Statesville Owls' Brennan Daniels dominated the Pineville Pioneers' batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.

Joshua Simpson got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Simpson struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Casey Liles (0-1) took the loss for the Statesville Owls. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
