An awesome effort by Mike Gibbons carried the Torrington Titans (19-24) to a 4-0 win over the Pittsfield Suns (20-22) on Wednesday at Wahconah Park.
The Torrington Titans' Gibbons kept the Pittsfield Suns off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up six.
Jon Luthe was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
