Shane Keddy drove in the go-ahead run to give the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (8-40) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs hung on to beat the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (25-23) 5-2 on Sunday.

After Ysander Figueroa singled, Keddy came to the plate with three outs in the sixth and grounded out, bringing home Figueroa and Joseph Cronin.

Cronin did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs, reaching base two times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the fourth inning.

Joe Swindells improved to 2-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Swindells struck out three, walked none and gave up nine hits.

Mike McFerran ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
