The Weyburn Beavers fall 13-6 at the hands of the Regina Red Sox

The Regina Red Sox (2-0) pounded the Weyburn Beavers (0-2) on Wednesday 13-6 at Currie Field.

A groundout by Hector Rivera and a three-run home run by Randy Ramirez helped the Regina Red Sox score four runs in the second. The Regina Red Sox had four hits in the inning.

Ramirez racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Regina Red Sox.

The Weyburn Beavers had no answer for Chris George, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. George held the Weyburn Beavers hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Jon Neuberger had a hot bat for the Weyburn Beavers. Neuberger went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the sixth inning and homered in the eighth inning.

Ryne Drummonds recorded his first win for the Regina Red Sox even though he allowed six runs over seven innings. Drummonds struck out two, walked two and gave up 12 hits.

Kurtis McCallum (0-1) took the loss for the Weyburn Beavers. He allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out four.
