The Menlo Park Legends beat the Alameda Merchants (6-8) 5-2 on Wednesday at Canada J.C. behind G Nelson, who went 2-4.

The Menlo Park Legends relied on Olmsted to eat up innings en route to the win. Olmsted pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and five walks while striking out five.

Parker Shaw paced the Alameda Merchants at the plate. Shaw went 2-4 and scored one run. He singled in the second and sixth innings.

The Menlo Park Legends couldn't get anything going as long as Zachary Wong was pitching. Wong held the Menlo Park Legends hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Justin King couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Alameda Merchants, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
