Jose Cardona is a 6-foot-2, 205 pound right-handed pitcher out of Canoga Park, California.   In 2015, Jose pitched for 2014 Goldpanners Field Manager Mike Grahovac at the University of Concordia at Irvine.   He originally transferred from Cal State Fullerton, where he was coached by Goldpanners coach Rick VanderHook.  During his two seasons at CS Fullerton, Cardona pitched effectively before injury halted his career there. 

After a full recovery, Jose wound up with Concordia-Irvine this spring, where he pitched 16 innings .  He is a talented prospect, with an 87-90 MPH fastball, a slider, as well as a changeup.  He holds runners on base well, and is known for his veteran approach and quality work ethic.

Jose prepped at El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills, California, graduating in 2011.  He was named team caption his senior season.
