Returning this summer for a third go-around in Mystic, Matt O’Herron will be looked upon as a leader in the Schooners’ infield. In his first two years with the team, Matt has shown a knack for reaching base safely--he finished third among qualifiers with a .361 OBP in 2012, and was near the top of the team last year with 17 walks--and served as an anchor at the hot corner.
At Franklin Pierce, Matt emerged as a leader for a 2013 Ravens team which would win the NCAA Division II East Regional, and was named to the All-Tournament team after batting .391 with five runs scored throughout the tournament. In 2014, he finished among the Ravens’ top 3 contributors in AVG, RBI, 2B, and walks.
