Originally signed by the Wingnuts back in March, Gutierrez joins the Wingnuts after spending the last five months pitching in the Mexican League for Tijuana and Leon. An 11-year veteran of professional baseball, Gutierrez will be appearing for his fourth American Association club, with time spent in St. Paul (2012, 2015),  Fargo-Moorhead (2013-2014), and Grand Prairie (2014-2015). The Los Angeles native sports a career record of 31-42 in 173 total contests, with 131 spent as a starter. Originally a 33rd round draft choice of the Kansas City Royals back in 2005, Gutierrez briefly reached as high as Double-A Frisco with the Texas Rangers organization for one start apiece in 2009 and 2010, and has split the last six seasons between the Mexican League and American Association. The 30-year old was 5-5 with a 5.96 ERA in his two Mexican League stops earlier this year.
