Signed by the Beach Bums on July 14th out of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. He hit .333 with 3 homers, 7 doubles, and 34 RBI, in 43 games and 42 starts this spring. He also had the fewest strikeout in all of Conference USA with 8. As a junior, he was named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll as a .366 hitter, good enough for the 4th best average in the conference. Started collegiately at Columbia State CC, and was 2nd team all-conference twice. At Goodpasture Christian HS, Ryan was named to the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association All-State team and was MVP of the Mid-Tennessee All-Star Game.
