A walk-off single from Cody Mombourquette brought home the winning run for the Ottawa Fat Cats (7-9) in a 3-2 victory over the Barrie Baycats (10-5) at Ottawa Stadium on Sunday.
The Ottawa Fat Cats were led by Mombourquette's hitting. Mombourquette went 2-5 and drove in one. He singled in the first and ninth innings.
Matt Hummel baffled the Barrie Baycats, striking out six batters. Hummel allowed one earned run, five hits and three walks over seven innings.
James Amelotte improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Ottawa Fat Cats. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Scott Kelly was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
