The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with seven lead changes.
Frankie Hare had two extra-base hits for the Guelph Royals. He doubled in the first inning, singled in the second and fifth innings, and homered in the seventh inning.
Roberto Suppa got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed four runs over 1 1/3 innings. Suppa struck out two, walked one and gave up two hits.
Lee Witmer (0-1) took the loss for the Kitchener Panthers. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
The Guelph Royals were sparked by Steve Coates and Jeremy Ware, who teamed up for nine hits and seven RBIs.
