Early lead gives the York Revolution easy victory over the Sugar Land Skeeters, 17-2

The York Revolution (25-26) shut the door early on the Sugar Land Skeeters (22-29), capturing a 17-2 victory on Tuesday at Sovereign Bank Stadium.

Nine runs in the first three innings allowed the York Revolution to put the game away early.

A solo home run by Ramon Castro, a three-run home run by Castro, and a solo home run by Andres Perez during the first inning and , , , a two-run double by Perez, and a single by Michael Hernandez in the second inning supplied the early offense for the York Revolution.

Perez had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits.

The York Revolution relied on Corey Thurman to eat up innings en route to the win. Thurman allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Jason Lane had two extra-base hits for the Sugar Land Skeeters. He doubled in the first innings and homered in the sixth inning.

Ryan Ketchner (0-3) took the loss for the Sugar Land Skeeters. He allowed nine runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.

The York Revolution hammered the Sugar Land Skeeters pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 17 hits, 17 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
