The Edinburg Roadrunners (35-21) took down the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings 8-1 on Sunday at Edinburg Stadium after slamming the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (31-24) with five runs in the fourth inning.

Stantrel Smith racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Edinburg Roadrunners. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

The Edinburg Roadrunners relied on Miguel Martinez to eat up innings en route to the win. Martinez pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks while striking out four.

Luis Chirinos (7-4) took the loss for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked three and struck out three.
