The San Angelo Colts (34-33) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 2-1 ballgame against the Edinburg Roadrunners (41-26) on Friday at Foster Field.
While the San Angelo Colts led until the seventh inning, the Edinburg Roadrunners worked their way back and took the lead on a solo home run by Tim Battle.
Battle was hot from the plate for the Edinburg Roadrunners. Battle went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning.
Matison Smith picked up the win for the Edinburg Roadrunners. Smith allowed one earned run, eight hits and five walks while striking out four over eight innings of work.
Despite the loss, the San Angelo Colts' Brian Henschel dominated the Edinburg Roadrunners' batters, giving up two runs and striking out seven.
Henschel (4-7) took the loss for the San Angelo Colts.
