The Fort Worth Cats (30-21) outlasted the San Angelo Colts (24-28) on Thursday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 7-5 win at Foster Field.
The Fort Worth Cats would not relinquish the lead as the San Angelo Colts were unable to weather a five-run fifth inning deficit.
The San Angelo Colts scored three runs in the eighth on an RBI double by Cory Patton, a sacrifice fly by Landon Camp, and an RBI single by Andrew Caron. Unfortunately, the San Angelo Colts weren't able to take the lead back.
The Fort Worth Cats were led by CJ Beatty's hitting. Beatty went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the fifth innings and singled in the third and sixth innings.
Trevor Harden picked up the win for the Fort Worth Cats. Harden allowed two earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.
Brian Henschel was charged with his sixth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked one and struck out one.
