Cory Patton drove in the go-ahead run to give the San Angelo Colts (17-17) the lead in the seventh inning, as the San Angelo Colts hung on to beat the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (20-14) 5-4 on Friday.

Michael Pair singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a single by Ronnie Gaines. Finally, Patton came to the plate with the San Angelo Colts trailing by two in the seventh inning, and doubled, scoring Pair, Gaines and Jason Diaz.

Patton racked up three RBIs on one hit for the San Angelo Colts. He doubled in the seventh inning.

Mike Hart recorded his third win of the year for the San Angelo Colts. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Hart struck out two, walked one and gave up seven hits.

Eddie Dennis Jr. (1-1) took the loss for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
