The Ontario two (2-1) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Newfoundland and Labrador (0-4), recording a 14-2 victory on Saturday at Junior Stade.

Eleven runs in the first three innings allowed the Ontario two to put the game away early.

A three-run double by Casey Power and an RBI double by Derrick Fortier during the first inning and an RBI single by Andrew Cooper, an RBI single by Cooper, and an RBI single by Eric Cunningham in the second inning fueled the Ontario two's offense early.

Fortier had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits.

Ben Stanczak improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Ontario two. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Kieran Buckingham ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 11 runs in three innings, walked four and struck out two.
