Alaska Goldpanners vs Matsu Miners: 5-7

The Matsu Miners hang on against the Alaska Goldpanners, 7-5

The Alaska Goldpanners (6-8) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Matsu Miners (7-14) on Wednesday, as the Alaska Goldpanners fell 7-5 at Growden Memorial Park after falling behind by four runs in the second inning.

The Alaska Goldpanners scored on an RBI single by Matt Nadolski and an RBI single by Nadolski in the third inning, a solo home run by Paul Politi in the fourth inning, and in the fifth inning. Unfortunately, the Alaska Goldpanners weren't able to take the lead back.

The Matsu Miners were led by Will Jamison's hitting. Jamison went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first and second innings.

The Alaska Goldpanners were led by Politi's hitting. Politi went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run.

Ross Mitchell recorded his third win for the Matsu Miners even though he allowed five runs over 4 2/3 innings. Mitchell struck out four, walked none and gave up 10 hits.

Matt Milke was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked two and struck out six.
