A great effort by Peter Barrows lifted the Sioux City Explorers (44-53) to a 5-2 win over the Winnipeg Goldeyes (54-43) on Friday at Shaw Park.
Barrows rocked the Winnipeg Goldeyes with three home runs. Barrows went 3-4 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Barrows homered in the third, sixth, and eighth innings.
Jason Jarvis picked up the win for the Sioux City Explorers. Jarvis pitched nine innings and allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out three.
Kyle Day had two extra-base hits for the Winnipeg Goldeyes. He doubled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.
Chris Salamida couldn't get it done on the mound for the Winnipeg Goldeyes, taking a loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
