Both the Amarillo (13-10) and the Laredo (10-12) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Amarillo that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 6-3 win at Uni-Trade Stadium.
Jason White paced the Amarillo at the plate. White went 3-5 and drove in one. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the first and ninth innings.
Stephen Pearson had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth and eighth innings.
Chuck Lofgren got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed one run over six innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered nine hits.
Chris Chavez (2-3) took the loss for the Laredo. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
