Sunday was a great day for Ryan Ripken, as he hit two home runs to carry the Youses Orioles (20-20) to a 10-2 victory over the Baltimore Redbirds (28-13) at Calvert Hall HS.
The Youses Orioles blew out the Baltimore Redbirds thanks to 14 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Youses Orioles scored four runs in the fifth on an RBI double by Zach Fisher, an error, , and a solo home run by Ripken.
The Youses Orioles relied on Bobby Ruse to eat up innings en route to the win. Ruse pitched eight innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and one walk while striking out four.
Andy Flett couldn't get it done on the mound for the Baltimore Redbirds, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
Ripken, Dominic Fratantuono and Brendan Butler helped lead the Youses Orioles. They combined for six hits and nine RBIs.
