The Alexandria Aces offense too much for the Baltimore Redbirds in 11-1 rout

Story by Narrative Science.

The Alexandria Aces (20-21) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Baltimore Redbirds (28-13), recording an 11-1 victory on Saturday at Calvert Hall HS.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Alexandria Aces left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A three-run home run by Alex Buccilli in the first inning and an RBI single by Keith Picconi, an RBI single by Buccilli, and an RBI single by Buccilli during the second inning fueled the Alexandria Aces' offense early.

Buccilli racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Alexandria Aces.

Colin Milon's 10 strikeouts were enough to push the Alexandria Aces past the Baltimore Redbirds. Milon allowed one earned run on three hits and four walks over four innings.

A bright spot for the Baltimore Redbirds in the defeat was LaMonte Wade Jr., who allowed only two runs while striking out five.

Curtis McCombs ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
