The Baltimore Redbirds (28-13) beat the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts (9-33) 12-2 on Friday at Calvert Hall HS after a seven-run explosion in the second inning.

John Gatlin racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Baltimore Redbirds. He homered in the second inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

The Baltimore Redbirds got the win thanks in large part to Corey Taylor's dominant, seven-strikeout performance. Taylor allowed two earned runs, six hits and one walk over seven innings.

Zach Ell got on base three times in the game for the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Hunter Englehart (1-4) took the loss for the Silver Spring Takoma T Bolts. He allowed eight runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
