Things looked bleak for the Bethesda Big Train (12-10) when they trailed by one run in the ninth inning, but the Bethesda Big Train recovered thanks to a key single in the ninth inning from Michael Bass to pull out a 4-3 win over the Alexandria Aces (12-11) at Frank Mann Field.

With the Bethesda Big Train trailing by one, Bass came to the plate and singled, scoring Cole Norton and Avondre Bollar.

Bass racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Bethesda Big Train. He singled in the ninth innings.

The Bethesda Big Train were led by Hunter Renfroe's hitting. Renfroe went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Ricky Holden had an impressive outing against the Alexandria Aces' lineup. Holden held the Alexandria Aces hitless over five innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five.

Despite the loss, the Alexandria Aces' Brian ONeill dominated the Bethesda Big Train's batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.

Hugh Adams improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Bethesda Big Train. He allowed one run over three innings. Adams struck out three, walked none and gave up three hits.

Steven Schuler couldn't get it done on the bump for the Alexandria Aces, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
