The Vienna River Dogs (7-4) rolled over the Baltimore Redbirds (7-5) 7-0 on Sunday at James Madison High School after a seven-run rally in the sixth inning.
Jason Allinder pushed the Vienna River Dogs ahead, in the sixth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Casey Turner was hit by a pitch to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a stolen base. Finally, Allinder came to the plate with the game scoreless in the sixth inning and doubled, scoring Turner and Shaun Wood.
Allinder racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Vienna River Dogs. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
Wood went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Vienna River Dogs. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Connor Bach brought the heat against the Baltimore Redbirds during his outing. Bach gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his 3 1/3 innings of work.
Justin Albright got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Nick Karsos (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
