The Bethesda Big Train (22-13) took down the Southern Maryland Nationals 9-1 on Friday at Riverdale Baptist HS (MD) after slamming the Southern Maryland Nationals (13-23) with six runs in the third inning.

Hunter Renfroe racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Bethesda Big Train. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Ben Griset struck out seven hitters en route to the the Bethesda Big Train win. Griset allowed no earned runs on three hits and six walks over 5 2/3 innings.

Michael Bowie ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.

The Bethesda Big Train hammered the Southern Maryland Nationals pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 12 hits, nine RBIs and eight runs scored.
