The Baltimore Redbirds (28-13) jumped on the Bethesda Big Train (25-16) early on their way to a 9-5 win on Wednesday at Calvert Hall HS, scoring five runs in the first inning.
Pat Fitzgerald racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Baltimore Redbirds. He singled in the first and seventh innings.
The Bethesda Big Train's lineup had no answer for Brennan Huelse. Huelse held the Bethesda Big Train hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out three.
Even though Corey Taylor allowed five runs over 5 2/3 innings he still recorded the victory, his sixth of the season. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered six hits.
Robby Kidd was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked 10 and struck out four.
