The Sugar Land Skeeters make the most of 7 hits in 5-3 victory over the York Revolution

The Sugar Land Skeeters (64-76) and the York Revolution (79-61) each put runners in scoring position on Sunday, but the Sugar Land Skeeters capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 5-3 win at Constellation Field, Sugar Land.

The Sugar Land Skeeters would not relinquish the lead as the York Revolution were unable to weather a three-run third inning deficit.

The York Revolution scored on an RBI single by Chris Nowak in the sixth inning and an RBI single by Salomon Manriquez in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the York Revolution couldn't get over the hump.

Jason Lane racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Sugar Land Skeeters. He homered in the third inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Roberto Giron looked sharp on the mound. The York Revolution managed just one hit off of Giron, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Kelvin Villa got the win, running his season record to 4-8. He allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Chris Waters couldn't get it done on the hill for the York Revolution, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
