A walk-off single from Shawn Williams brought home the winning run for the Long Island Ducks (35-24) in a 9-8 victory over the Sugar Land Skeeters at Bethpage Ballpark on Thursday.

Williams did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Long Island Ducks, reaching base three times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the ninth inning.

The two teams combined for 17 runs and 27 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were seven pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

Brandon Sing racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Long Island Ducks. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fourth and ninth innings.

Armando Benitez recorded his first win of the year for the Long Island Ducks. He allowed two runs over one inning. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Gary Majewski couldn't get it done on the mound for the Sugar Land Skeeters (26-34), taking a loss. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
