Things looked bleak for the Camden Riversharks (19-21) when they trailed by four runs in the eighth inning, but the Camden Riversharks recovered thanks to a key single in the eighth inning from Brian Burgamy to pull out a 7-5 win over the York Revolution (19-20) at Sovereign Bank Stadium.
With the score tied at four in the eighth inning, Burgamy came to the plate and singled, plating Marquez Smith.
Burgamy was solid at the plate for the Camden Riversharks. Burgamy went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.
The Camden Riversharks held off the York Revolution, as the York Revolution were unable to overcome a three-run eighth inning deficit.
The York Revolution scored one run in the ninth on a solo home run by Travis Scott. Unfortunately, the York Revolution weren't able to take the lead back.
Spencer Steedley improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Camden Riversharks. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Stephen Penney (1-1) took the loss for the York Revolution. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
