After five lead changes in Sunday's game at Don Edwards Field, the Licking County Settlers (24-15) finally pulled out a 8-6 win over the Hamilton Joes (13-26).
The Licking County Settlers took the lead in the eighth inning and held on for the victory. A sacrifice fly by Nick Schulz scored Parker Gibson and gave the Licking County Settlers the lead for good.
Ryan Cordell had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the third inning.
The Hamilton Joes couldn't get anything going as long as A.J. Hrubetz was on the mound. The Hamilton Joes managed just one hit off of Hrubetz, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
Tucker Tubbs had two extra-base hits for the Hamilton Joes. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the seventh inning.
Cameron Pongs ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
